Beautiful minerals born from the earth
Japanese name: Celestite
English name: celestite
A beautiful blue-grey solid with highly transparent crystals.
A relatively new mineral discovered in Sicily, Italy in 1781.
It was named celestite by the German mineralogist Werner. The origin of the word celestite is said to be from "celestial," meaning "the color of the sky," but there is also a theory that it comes from the Latin word "coelestis," meaning heaven.
This piece is not a sphere like the typical celestite geode, but has a shape that allows the crystals to be clearly seen and is perfect for displaying and enjoying.
The minerals selected by MOUSEION are not only valuable as specimens, but are also selected raw stones that have appeal and presence as objects.
All of the minerals we select are chemically stable and safe to touch, so they can be used as interior decorations.
Attention
All minerals are natural and some have sharp crystals. Please be careful. Avoid dropping or contacting with hard objects as this may cause breakage.
Since each piece is a unique natural product, it may have inclusions, unique colors, natural cracks, etc. We select pieces that we think are beautiful, including those characteristics. Please enjoy the unique mineral scenery.
"Chemically stable" means that the substance is unlikely to undergo chemical changes under normal temperature and humidity conditions.
