White porcelain covered dish / Takahiro Yahagi

Landscape vessel

This is a piece that stands out in particular among the other pieces in this exhibition.

Many people will probably see Yahagi's work for the first time.

The word "lidded item" specifically refers to ceramic ware with a lid, but this is an exceptional piece that we would call an objet d'art.

The inside of the lid, the inside, the bottom, all have beautiful scenery, so you can close it and look at it, open it and look at it... You'll find yourself opening it, closing it and looking at it over and over again. Every side is beautiful, all the sides are one, and it's also unique in that there is no so-called "back side" anywhere.

It fits well and there is no step at the bottom, so you can use just the bottom part. It can be used as a special dish to use at a gathering, or it can be placed nearby as an objet d'art.

Even if you don't know the country or era you were born in

Even if I came across Yahagi's work in a different country or at a different time, I would still pick it up.

Since the white porcelain has many areas that are unglazed, the character of the piece improves over time, and each piece will develop its own unique personality under the care of its owner.

He is a rare creator who creates new pieces that develop beauty over time.

[Handling Information]

Made from fine-grained white porcelain clay.

The artist's intention with unglazed pieces is to create a unique look by gradually coloring them as they are used.

If you want to maintain the white appearance, we recommend washing it as soon as possible after use. If you are concerned about color transfer, please use dish bleach.

The chipped shape is intentional and the product is filed so there are no sharp edges. If chips appear during use, you can continue using the product by polishing it with waterproof paper.
